What will this role of Analytical Chemist / Laboratory Analyst entail?
As an Analytical Chemist, you’ll primarily support the Space Technology Glass Melting department with additional production analyses and support responsibilities.
Operating as part of a multi-skilled team, you will be at the helm of the glass melting processes, using high precision, titrimetric and gravimetric analyses, and complex glass analyses using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and X-ray fluorescence spectrophotometers.
You’ll take on further duties such as process monitoring, analysis and raw material sampling, and be responsible for hazardous waste segregation using a forklift truck, labelling and compliant storage and disposal.
What will I need to be considered for this Analytical Chemist / Laboratory Analyst vacancy?
Although not essential, a forklift licence and working knowledge of Atomic absorption and x-ray fluorescence spectrometry for glass analysis would be highly advantageous.

You will be employed on a permanent contract, working 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08.15 to 16.45, and 08.15 to 12.15 on a Friday. Particularly during the months of the Glass Melt campaign, a full flexibility of hours will be required, along with the availability to work overtime in order to meet business needs.
Location: St Asaph (Denbighshire, North Wales), conveniently located near to the A55 - making it easily commutable from the North West region.
