What will this role of NC Catia Programmer entail?

Working as part of the Engineering team at the Nottingham site, your role will be varied to encompass NC programming, manufacturing shop floor support and system/process integrity, with duties to include although not be limited to:

  • Creating NC programs using Catia V5 on 3, 4 and 5 axis machines
  • Utilising Vericut to ensure that all the programs conform to all stage and finish part drawings
  • Creating all Tool builds and putting into the Catia Tool Library
  • Utilising the latest cutting strategies in conjunction with Tooling suppliers
  • Ensuring that all Tooling is ordered, and all CAPEX spend is strictly monitored and in budget
  • Accurately entering of geometry for part programming
  • Exhibiting GD&T proficiency
  • Ensuring that all Programs and Tooling are available prior to manufacture
  • Working alongside Machinists proving out first article production of new parts, or re-programmed parts
  • Maintaining open dialogue with Machinists relative to continuous improvement of part programs
  • Assisting the Engineering Manager and NPI Co-ordinator in defining CNC program guidelines and ensuring that guidelines are followed
  • Ensuring that all programs, drawings and models are issue level maintained

What will I need to be considered for this NC Catia Programmer vacancy?

  • Proven background within the aerospace industry as a Programmer, with Catia V5 experience on 3, 4 and 5 axis machines
  • Experience of 5 axis machining on both Milling and Millturn machines
  • Experience of both Machining and Programming a variety of materials especially Aluminum and 300M
  • Working knowledge of Vericut and Solidworks 3D Modelling
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D models

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 38.5 hours per week on a weekly rotational shift pattern, at the site in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham.
