The Role – Class 2 LGV Driver / HGV Driver – (Refuse Collection, Street Cleaning & Gritting)

You will drive vehicles up to and including Class 2 LGV / HGV, within your designated area around Nottingham city or Derby city, depending on where you live. You’ll work across the Resident Services remit, which includes street cleaning, bin collection, recycling and occasionally gritting during winter.

You will work as part of a small and friendly team, and together you will ensure the day-to-day tasks are carried out correctly and safely. You’ll also keep vehicles safe and clean, using a range of hand tools, power tools and equipment.

Our Requirements – Class 2 LGV Driver / HGV Driver

• Class 2 LGV / HGV driving licence
• Ability to safely drive refuse / bin collection vehicles, gritters and sweepers
• Due to the nature of this role, you must have the ability to complete physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to communicate well and work as part of a team

Although not essential, a full driver CPC qualification would be highly advantageous, although we can fund the CPC course at a discounted rate if needed.

The Package

• Permanent contract
• Depending on where you live, you’ll be based either from our site in the centre of Nottingham or in the centre of Derby
• Annualised hours working average 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, typically between 6:30am and 2:30pm in winter months, and until no later than 4pm in summer months. You will very occasionally be required to work Saturdays to make up for time off during Bank Holidays
• Starting salary of £24,616 (inclusive of base salary of £19,698 plus monthly supplement of £409.80), plus generous overtime rate where applicable. Pay rising to £25,411 (inclusive of base salary of £20,493 plus supplement). Pay supplements are reviewed yearly
