The Role – Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Head of Finance, as Assistant Accountant you will be involved in the day-to-day running and performance of the finance and administration functions of the business. You’ll get involved with all areas of the business (including with customers and suppliers), to help you develop a good overview of how our operations work and enable you to make strategic financial decisions.

Your duties will initially include:

• Supervising and supporting with the preparation and posting of invoices to the debtors and creditors ledgers
• Assisting in the resolution of invoicing and payment queries
• Preparing reconciliation of the balance sheet control accounts
• Assisting with the generation of the monthly management accounts, as well as preparing the year-end accounts and files

The Package

• Permanent contract, working 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday from our offices in St. Asaph (North Wales)
• A starting salary between £25,000 and £28,000, negotiable depending on experience, plus training support to achieve ACCA or CIMA if required
• Annual leave starting at 20 days plus bank holidays, rising to a maximum of 30 days

Our Requirements – Assistant Accountant

• Experience gained working in a finance role (e.g., as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant)
• Either looking to study towards, studying, or qualified ACCA or CIMA
• Good IT and Excel skills
• Able to work on own initiative and meet deadlines
• Determination to progress and succeed

Although not essential, experience gained working with Sage would be highly advantageous.
