Fire and Security Alarm Engineer

Field based – Salary up to £36,000 plus attractive bonuses with OTE up to £40,000

Offering installation and maintenance services, Jackson offers a wide range of solutions from basic fire extinguishers through to large commercial installations.

What will this role of Fire and Security Alarm Engineer entail?

Reporting to the Branch Director, as a Fire and Security AlarmEngineer you’ll provide field-based support to clients in Guildford and the surrounding areas such as Woking, Aldershot, Farnham, Petersfield, Haslemere and Godalming. On occasion, you may be required to travel further afield.

Working as part of a team of highly skilled Fire and Security AlarmEngineers, your tasks will include;

  • Installing, servicing and commissioning small to medium sized fire and intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems
  • Providing certification for installed and serviced systems to comply with relevant British standards
  • Identifying potential opportunities where customers could benefit from using additional services
  • Managing own diary to ensure allocated work is completed on time
  • Responding to out of hours calls whilst covering on call duty

What will I receive in return as a Fire and Security Alarm Engineer?

You’ll be joining an ambitious business in a highly autonomous role with the full support of the branch. As a Fire and Security Alarm Engineer, you’ll receive a salary in the region of £32,000 to £36,000, level dependent on experience, plus fantastic bonuses that will enable you to achieve on target earnings (OTE) up to £40,000.

Benefits include a company van, laptop and mobile phone, plus an extra day’s annual leave for your birthday.

Head office facilities include a bespoke training room that has seen an investment of £30,000, enabling Engineers to refresh their fire and security alarm repair and maintenance skills. The facility boasts seven complete alarm systems including Siemens and Honeywell for new recruits to train on.

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to support business and client needs.

What will I need to be considered for this Fire and Security Alarm Engineer vacancy?

  • Experience with installing, servicing and commissioning fire and/or security systems (training will be provided where required)
  • Client focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision
  • Full and clean UK driving licence

Due to the nature of the business, successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory DBS and BS7858 checks.
