Senior Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer

Operating across multiple branches in the UK, Crouch Waterfall is a forward thinking Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy working on railway infrastructure, temporary works, buildings, bridges, highways and geotechnics. Established since 1981, the business has enjoyed steady growth driven by a committed and highly skilled workforce of 45 employees.

The Senior Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer role

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll join our close-knit team of 7 based within the welcoming and relaxed Warrington office, working with other Technicians and Engineers across a wide variety of schemes within the rail, nuclear and building sectors.

Taking ownership of your own projects across civils, bridges, rail and temporary works, your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Designing civil and structural schemes and checking designs prepared by others, including producing detailed calculations by hand and through computer models
  • Carrying out inspections, site surveys and assessments of structures and preparing reports
  • Preparing and managing project programmes, workload and resources
  • Liaising with clients to verify project scope and ensure deliverables
  • Mentoring junior members of the team

What will I receive in return?

As a Senior Engineer, you will receive a salary in the region of £30,000 to £40,000 level dependent on experience and qualifications, plus a range of attractive benefits including:

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week. There is flexibility with start and finish times available however, the core working hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm.

What will I need to be considered for this Senior Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer vacancy?

  • Relevant Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering degree, and working towards Chartership or already have Chartered status (ICE or IStructE - salary negotiable on above if Chartered)
  • Proven experience of civil / structural design within the UK industry
  • Strong technical knowledge within assessment and design, including inspections, calculations and analysis of existing structures and new build design development
  • Project management experience, preferably within rail or temporary works
  • Client focused approach, with effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK, with a high standard of written English

Although not essential, proven experience gained with rail procedures, Eurocode and Highway standards would be highly advantageous.
