What will this role of Kitchen Porter entail?

As a Kitchen Porter you’ll be in the midst of the kitchen action and get to experience what it’s really like working in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen environment. You’ll prepare and cook high quality produce and maintain the cleanliness of food production work areas / equipment and utensils.

During peak months, the team can regularly cater for approximately 8000 guests per day across multiple units. Our Chameleon Tree restaurant and coffee house offers guests wholesome, contemporary comfort food to suit every taste in a welcoming environment that can cater for up to 420 people at any one time!

What will I need to be considered for this Kitchen Porter vacancy?

  • An abundance of enthusiasm and energy
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with a confident, mature and friendly nature
  • Be honest, reliable and committed, and enjoy responsibility and exceeding expectations
  • Flexible to work extra hours / weekends as required

Although not essential, previous experience within the hospitality industry in a fast-paced kitchen environment would be highly advantageous.

As a Kitchen Porter you will receive a pay rate that exceeds National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage, in addition to a range of attractive benefits that include;

Contract: Permanent, working hours to vary on a 7-day rota basis but a guaranteed minimum of 312 hours per 13-week period (equates to a minimum of 24 hours per week on average). Earliest rota’d start time from 9am, and latest finish time up to 8pm.

Please note, due to the nature of the business evenings and weekend work will be required, including bank holidays.
