Part Time General Maintenance Worker (20 hours per week) – The Woodlands, luxury retirement living development

Adlington Management Services (AMS) are an innovative specialist manager of high-quality retirement accommodation with care, typically comprising of multi-storey privately owned apartments. We are part of the multi-award-winning developer Adlington Retirement Living, which is part of the respected Gladman group with over 30 years of development experience.

We are seeking a General Maintenance Worker who is motivated and enthusiastic, to work as part of the AMS team at our latest Retirement Living Community. Exclusively for the over 65s, The Woodlands is comprised of modern, stylish retirement apartments located in Heaton Mersey, Stockport.

All apartments benefit from their own balcony or patio and homeowners enjoy the use of a stylish lounge, table service restaurant serving breakfast and lunch daily, coffee lounge, activities studio, therapy suite, hairdressing salon and guest suite.

The development is easily accessed by car, situated just off the A34, with excellent road links and bus services to Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly.

The Role – General Maintenance Worker

Your responsibilities will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Undertaking general maintenance and upkeep to ensure a safe and attractive environment for Homeowners, their families, staff and visitors
  • Completing planned preventive work and safety checks, as well as running repairs and the supervision of outside contractors
  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Completing and maintaining records
  • Supporting Homeowners with general maintenance tasks within their individual apartments
  • Keeping gardens and outside communal areas neat and tidy between scheduled landscapers’ visits, and ensuring paths / outside areas remain safe in adverse cold weather
  • Supporting Homeowners to use local amenities and socialise, by driving the development minibus

Our Requirements – General Maintenance Worker

  • Experience gained either with DIY or general maintenance in a professional setting
  • Understanding of health and safety with regards to general maintenance in a professional setting
  • Full UK driving licence

As a General Maintenance Worker, you’ll benefit from:

  • Permanent contract
  • A pay rate of £10 per hour(equivalent to £10,400 per year for 20 hours per week)
  • 136 hours of paid annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
  • 6% employer pension contributions

You will be working 5 hour shifts over 4 days per week, with some flexibility over start and finish times.
