Operations Manager (Hospitality) - Luxury retirement living developments

Enterprise Retirement Living (ERL) develop award-winning retirement villages and communities to provide vibrant and supportive living for the over 55s to live in a secure and independent manner. We are part of Enterprise Property Group Limited (EPGL), an award-winning national developer with over 25 years’ experience in delivering high quality homes built to an excellent specification and whose schemes have included historic and heritage, urban and retirement developments.

We own two retirement villages (The Red House in Ripon and Boughton Hall in Chester) and are excited to be opening a third later this year (the exquisite Mount Battenhall in Worcester), and as a result, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to work across all three sites and support our vision to grow and enhance our service offering.

ERL has also acquired a fourth site in central York which is in the design phase and will commence in 2021 and has funding to further develop the portfolio significantly over the coming years.

What will this role of Operations Manager entail?

Reporting to the Head of Operations, as the Operations Manager you will coordinate our operations in relation to existing and planned developments on a day to day basis in line with our strategic direction to ensure targets for growth, sales, quality, compliance and profitability are achieved. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Establishing suitable care and support services for residents in new developments to ensure that they meet expectations in terms of quality and availability
  • Developing and implementing operational systems and processes to ensure the ongoing provision of high quality services for residents, in addition to providing after sales support
  • Co-ordinating and assisting with recruitment, employment, training and supervision of employees in existing and new developments
  • Providing day to day support and guidance to General Managers and employees to ensure that they are supported and focused in areas such as health and safety, facility management and hospitality
  • Contributing to the ongoing review and development of the business model, inputting suggestions from the operational, day to day management perspective

What will I need in order to be considered for this Operations Manager role?

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager, ideally gained within the retirement housing, hospitality or the housing services sector, with the ability to work across multiple sites
  • Experience of recruiting and managing a team
  • Excellent business acumen, communication and IT skills
  • Be financially astute to assist with budget management and financial procedures
  • Full UK driving licence and ownership of own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel frequently between retirement villages

What will I receive in return?

As the Operations Manager, you’ll receive a salary of circa £45,000, level dependent on experience, plus a range of benefits including a pension scheme, car allowance, private healthcare, social activities and a luxurious working environment. You’ll be part of a company with a real family ethos, where you’ll be more than just a number and a valued member of the team.

You’ll be employed on a permanent, full time contract, Monday to Friday.

Location: Based at Mount Battenhall (Worcester), although extensive travel to our other retirement villages will be required and the ability to work from home at times would be advantageous.
