Buyer (Manufacturing) - 12 month fixed term contract.

Due to continued growth and following a successful recruitment for one vacancy within our Supply Chain Team, we are now looking to expand further with another 12 month contract opportunity for someone who would thrive working within a highly reputable global manufacturing business, with whom you can demonstrate your procurement expertise and superior negotiation skills and be well rewarded.

Héroux Devtek is an international company specialising in the design, development, manufacture, integration, testing and repair and overhaul of landing gear and actuation systems and components for the Aerospace market.

The Role - Buyer

As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for the quality, cost, and delivery performance of designated suppliers, ensuring that procured products and services for our world-leading landing gear are supplied on time and are available to support production requirements.

You’ll lead specific supplier relationships, including the introduction of new suppliers, and assess and manage the risks of supply through a risk and project management approach, identifying and implementing countermeasures where needed to rectify supplier performance. 

Our Requirements -Buyer

  • Proven procurement experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent understanding of inventory, supplier relationship, project, and risk management
  • Superb communication, negotiation and organisational skills
  • Cost driven and commercially minded, with superb analytical skills

Although not essential, proven experience of new product introduction and contract negotiation with suppliers would be highly advantageous.

You’ll work from our office in Runcorn and be employed on a 12 month fixed term contract, working Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm, and Friday 8am to 1pm.
