Electrical or Mechanical Engineer – Rail Vehicle Light Maintenance
Two new positions available due to increased work.
Arriva TrainCare provides Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry from its five strategically located maintenance depots. The successful, rapidly evolving organisation is going through a massive transformation at real pace, with a strong order book for 2020 and beyond.
As an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (Rail Shift Fitter), you’ll be employed on a permanent contract, and receive a salary of £36,887, plus great additional benefits including 26 days annual leave including bank holidays, pension, healthcare cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
You’ll be responsible for efficiently carrying out the maintenance and servicing of rail vehicles. You’ll play an active part in continuously improving product quality, carrying out routine maintenance activities including fault finding, diagnostics and minor repairs, assisting in ensuring rolling stock availability and reliability targets are met as well as operating rail vehicles as required.
You’ll join the Light Maintenance Team within our busy Eastleigh (Southampton) depot, working an average of 39 hours per week, 6:30pm to 6am on a 4 on 4 off night shift roster OR 2 days and 2 nights, 6am and 5:30pm, and 6:30pm and 6am - please make clear upon applying which shift pattern you are interested in.
