Care Services Support Assistant (Housekeeper)

Although welcome, no previous experience is required as full training provided. Multiple opportunities to work either in Clapham or Hampstead. Full time and part time hours available, with flexibility with days / hours worked.

Our Organisation

Nightingale Hammerson is an independent charity and a leading specialist in the care of older people and has served the Jewish community since 1840. Our organisation comprises of two care homes, Nightingale House in Clapham and Hammerson House in Hampstead. We provide 150 bedrooms at Nightingale House, and a further 116 bedrooms at Hammerson House. Together we care for over 250 residents, half of whom are self-funding with remaining costs covered by local authorities, family support, or through our fundraising efforts.

Our team of over 350 individuals including nurses, physiotherapists, housekeepers, and engagement specialists mean a lot to us. The Role – Care Services Support Assistant (Housekeeper)

Working as part of a team of Housekeepers at either Nightingale or Hammerson House, you’ll provide person-centred care by assisting with residents’ daily activities, including cleaning and domestic duties. You’ll achieve this by:

  • Cleaning all sanitary areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, communal areas etc. including deep cleaning residents’ rooms
  • Replenishing towels and bed linen in residents’ rooms
  • Assisting the residents at mealtimes, following relevant training
  • Supporting the Care team in engaging with residents and activities
  • Serving tea and refreshments to residents
  • Providing relief for our Care team providing one-on-one care to residents

Our Requirements – Care Services Support Assistant (Housekeeper)

Although no previous experience is required as full training will be provided, you will be required to have:

  • Compassion, respect, and a caring approach
  • Awareness of and respect for the Jewish values and traditions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships and work well within a team
  • The ability to work alone and manage and prioritise tasks
  • Flexible attitude towards tasks and hours
  • A professional presentation and attitude, with a customer-orientated and friendly outlook

Due to the nature of this role and our organisation, successful candidates for these roles will be subject to a DBS check.

  • Full time (37.5 hours) or a range of part time hours available, with flexibility with days / hours worked
