Software Tester – Potential to work from home within the UK is available, with office based in Isle of Wight.

Exciting opportunity for a highly driven individual with either proven experience as a Software Tester or have a Bachelor level degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT or similar subject, to join Yokogawa Marex, a specialist software solutions company within the Yokogawa Group, providing software applications in the manufacturing execution systems (MES) solution domain. This Software Tester Role

Reporting to the Software Quality Assurance Manager, and as a member of our Software Test Team, you will work on new and existing projects in the test and deployment of software products and solutions, working with agile and waterfall methodologies to test a broad variety of Client, Web and GUI based information systems and applications.

Duties will include, although not be limited to:

• Producing and reviewing test specifications to carry out black box testing in line with the appropriate quality metrics for functional, integration and laboratory tests
• Planning, preparing and executing test specification and recording results
• Planning, designing and developing automated, Code UI, Functional and Unit tests to improve efficiency and test recurrence
• Executing and maintaining automated test runs and recording results
• Verifying and reporting software quality measures to ensure they meet specific targets
• Creating and testing software release media to include the relevant installation packages and documentation (User, Installation and Release)
• Setting up multi server environments as defined by appropriate test specifications
• Creating and maintaining existing physical and virtual test environments and templates
• Assisting other departments / teams in the diagnosing of issues such as Usability, Configuration, Networking and Operational systems

Requirements for this Software Tester vacancy

You might have a Bachelor level degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT or a similar subject with a foundation of experience to offer as a Software Tester, or you might not have a degree, but have a wealth of experience and knowledge to bring to the table.

Along with this, you will have:

• Proven experience in the testing of Client, Web and GUI based systems and applications
• Experience of automated functional and non-functional testing using tools such as Selenium
• Strong exposure of products developed in MS SQL, ASP.NET and C#
• Experience of using and managing test and bug tracking tools such as MS Test Manager (MTM) and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Eligibility to work in the UK (no option for sponsored employment visa at present)

The Package

As a Software Tester, you’ll benefit from:

• A salary in the region of £26,500 to £35,800, with the level dependent on experience
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with increments based on length of service
• Pension with company contribution of 5%

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, 37 hours per week, within Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to meet customer and business needs.

Our office is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Ideally, we would prefer you to be office based, but we are open to considering applications from those looking to work remotely (but this will be dependent on your level of experience and ability to do so).

Please note, there will be an initial training period where you will be required to be office based (accommodation and travel expenses will be paid), and infrequent travel to the office required for ongoing training and meetings.
