What you’ll be doing…

Initially you will start as a fully-funded student Hearing Care Assistant studying on our internal Boots Hearingcare course. Upon successful completion you will work in clinics within our stores whilst continuing studies to expand your scope of clinical practice.

By September 2019 you’ll become a student on our fully-funded Foundation Degree Course delivered by Aston University. Whilst undertaking your studies, you will work out of one of our fabulous stores gaining experience in a client facing environment to become a fully qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist and enjoy a varied and rewarding career with Boots Hearingcare.

The skills you’ll need…

If you have a passion for helping people and an interest in healthcare and / or technology, we want to hear from you. Along with these attributes, we look for candidates who:

  • Always put the customer first and will draw on strong interpersonal skills and deep knowledge to provide the very best solution
  • Have good self-discipline, the ability to work independently to maintain studies and eventually develop their own clinics whilst building strong relationships with other in-store healthcare professionals
  • Are articulate and professional and can communicate effectively at all levels
  • Have GSCE grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Have a full clean driving licence and able to relocate anywhere in the UK post qualification

What we can offer you…

This opportunity would suit someone who wishes to be part of a growing business that prides itself on the care it provides its colleagues, as well as customers. For someone who is career-minded and willing to work hard to achieve their goals, this would be an immensely rewarding opportunity.

We will sponsor the cost of your studies, and your salary during training will be £16,500 per annum plus £3,000 car allowance. Post qualification your on-target earnings will be circa £29,000 per annum plus car allowance.

You can also benefit from a Boots discount card and life assurance cover after completion of probationary period, pension scheme, employee assistance programme, childcare voucher scheme, and long service awards.

Upon successful qualification you will be offered a permanent contract as an Audiologist. We will try to offer you a store close to where you live but as part of fully-funding your qualification we may require you to relocate on qualification to fill key stores where customers require an audiology service.

We are looking for people who are mobile across the UK and able to commit to full time hours.

The Foundation Degree Programme will lead to a qualification and HAA registration in 2020. Training will form a mixture of home learning, attending our training centre and Aston University both in Birmingham and working in stores.
