Calder is one of the UK’s leading building materials suppliers, delivering lead sheet and a wide range of ancillary products to builders’ merchants nationwide.

In addition, Calder are also the UK’s leading specialist in lead engineering. The company designs, manufactures and installs radiation shielding and other products in the nuclear, medical and other markets.

The Project Coordinator Role

Working closely with the Project Manager, as Project Coordinator your responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining comprehensive action plans including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. You will also support with risk management and perform various coordination tasks such as scheduling, whilst handling general project queries and organising travel and accommodation.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating project management activities, resources and equipment
  • Liaising with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
  • Assigning tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
  • Monitoring project progress and acting as the point of contact to communicate project status with all participants
  • Making sure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
  • Helping prepare budgets
  • Using tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditure
  • Overseeing project procurement management
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports

What will I need to be considered for this Project Coordinator role?

  • Proven experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar role, ideally gained within the construction industry
  • Experience working on projects from conception to delivery
  • Strong IT literacy including a high level of working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work with architectural specifications and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Solid organisational skills, with accurate and timely data entry skills
  • Superb communication and teamwork skills

Although not essential, qualifications in CSCS, SSSTS, ONC/OND or similar would be advantageous.

What will I receive in return?

As a Project Coordinator, you’ll receive a salary in the region of £30,000 to £32,000 with the level dependent on experience and qualifications, along with the following benefits:

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm.

Location: Near Sealand Rd on the outskirts of Chester City Centre.
