Retail Team Leader
We’re Twycross Zoo, an award-winning conservation charity and rapidly growing visitor attraction, currently attracting 580,000 visitors each year. We’re at the forefront of conservation, education and research, and have a strong commitment to our award-winning education programme which aims to increase the level of awareness, knowledge and understanding about the animals and their plight in the wild.
Key to bolstering our revenue to ensure that work continues is our Retail operation, in which we’ve got an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised team player to step up and further their staff supervision and retail experience in an environment like no other.
What will this role of Retail Team Leader entail?
Working closely with the Retail Manager and deputising in their absence, as the Retail Team Leader, you’ll manage the day to day Retail operations, including outlets, stock ordering and control and merchandising.
Operating at the same responsibility level as an Assistant Manager in other organisations, you’ll prepare staff rotas to be in line with budget, and be responsible for providing effective line management to team members, using your excellent knowledge and understanding of all areas of our Retail department to pass on guidance and support to the team and ensure they deliver an excellent customer service. Given the nature of our industry, our teams consist of permanent and seasonal staff, so the team size you will oversee will vary.
What will I need to be considered for this Retail Team Leader vacancy?
You may be required to undertake Duty Commercial Management Shifts from time to time, more to be explained at interview.
What will I receive in return?
As the Retail Team Leader you’ll receive a salary of £22,000 per annum, along with fantastic additional benefits including 31 days holiday per annum (inclusive of bank holidays), a staff membership card giving you free entry to the Zoo on your days off and discounts in our retail and food outlets, and free onsite parking.
You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 5 days out of 7 (including weekends) averaging 40 hours per week, usually between 9am and 6:30pm in the summer and 9am and 5:30pm in the winter.
