Hospitality Duty Manager (Customer Service / Retail) (Alston Court) Permanent contract with part time hours.

Kingsdale Group manages property on behalf of private residential leaseholders. Our aim is that every development we manage is attractively presented, well maintained and staffed by friendly, helpful and efficient people. We want each development that we manage to be a source of pride to those who live there.

We now manage some 2,200 units on over 50 developments throughout England, of which over 1,600 properties are managed on behalf of retired home-owners.

Alston Court is a luxury retirement development comprising of 54 apartments in Westcliff on Sea. There are lovely communal areas including a dining room, owner’s lounge with patio area, and a hobbies room. Regular social activities include whist and quiz nights, sing along sessions, coffee mornings and chat nights.

The Role – Hospitality Duty Manager (Customer Service / Retail)  (Alston Court)

As a Hospitality Duty Manager you’ll direct and supervise the work of General Assistants and Cooks to ensure the smooth running of all of the day-to-day functions of Alston Court. All members of staff have a responsibility for developing a good community spirit throughout Alston Court and to help owners lead as fulfilling a personal and social life as they wish.

Your duties will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Working closely with owners to assess their requirements for tasks such as domestic cleaning, local shopping and laundry and ironing
  • Allocating and managing appropriate General Assistant time accordingly
  • Consulting with the Court Manager and Cooks to make sure that the weekly menus provide varied and nutritionally balanced meals and snacks
  • Ensuring that all meals and refreshments are served to professional standards

You’ll work an average of 19.6 hours per week, between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00pm on a 7-day, five-week rota which includes weekends and Bank Holidays. The early shift commences at 8:00am and finishes at 3:00 pm, and the late shift commences at 3:00pm and finishes at 10:00pm followed by a sleepover until the following morning.

Our Requirements – Hospitality Duty Manager (Customer Service / Retail)  (Alston Court)

  • Proven experience of delivering excellent customer care gained within the hospitality or retail sector
  • Ability to remain calm in an ever-changing environment
  • Passion for delivering the highest standards of customer service
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Although not essential, previous experience working as a supervisor or manager is highly advantageous.  

The Package

As a Hospitality Duty Manager of Alston Court, you will benefit from:

  • A permanent contract
  • A base pay rate of £11.04 per hour (equivalent to base salary of £11,252 for 19.6 hours per week)
  • An enhanced hourly rate of £12.14 for sickness cover or absence of co-workers
  • An an additional allowance of £56.50 per night for the sleepover shift
  • An enhanced pension scheme
  • Bank Holiday work paid at double time

Your total package, with all of the above factored in can be expected to be in the region of £15,365.
