Accountant / Client Services Manager Flexibility available with days and hours worked, with option to either work part time or full time hours. Hybrid working is also available.

The Role – Accountant / Client Services Manager

Working as part of a small team in a fast and dynamic environment, as the Accountant / Client Services Manager you will be responsible for managing the quality and delivery of the client accounting production processes, ensuring that work is completed on time and to a high level of professional quality. Your duties will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for client queries and responding in a timely manner taking ownership of the task in hand
  • Proactively planning and managing accounts preparation and client work
  • Reviewing and managing work prepared by the accounts team and provide training where appropriate
  • Ensuring that all year end filing deadlines are met for accounts, management accounts, corporation tax matters and all VAT and CIS deadlines are met
  • Planning and executing the longer term strategy of the office along with the partners
  • Providing advice to owner managers on both business and personal tax matters
  • Ensuring all deadlines for self assessment returns are met
  • Undetaking one-off client service tasks i.e. tax registration, CGT calculations, company secretarial tasks etc.
  • Provide Xero support and training to clients

Our Requirements – Accountant / Client Services Manager

  • Proven experience gained in industry or in an accountancy practice, working with small and medium sized companies
  • Ideally be qualified through experience, or be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Experience gained managing a client portfolio as well as managing a small team
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Proficient in Senta, Xero and IRIS or an equivalent accounting CRM workflow software
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Technically sound with up to date knowledge

As the Accountant / Client Services Manager, you will be based at our easy accessible, modern office just outside the town of Ware (Hertfordshire) and you will benefit from:

  • Permanent contract
  • Encouraged work life balance with flexible working options, with option to choose to work either part time or full time hours. If part time, you will have flexibility available with days and hours worked, with the option to work a minimum of 3 days or spread hours across 4 or 5 days per week
  • Option to work from home 1 day per week if preferred
  • Salary up to £45,000 (pro rata if part time hours)
  • Full training will be provided along with comprehensive continued professional development
  • Professional subscription fees covered
