Vehicle Servicing / Fuel Attendant x 2

A new and exciting opportunity for 2 individuals looking for a career with a detailed progression and development plan in place.

As a Vehicle Servicing / Fuel Attendant you’ll take on an exciting and varied role that will see you perform key tasks in the servicing of customer trains.

Working alongside a team of Fitters who will be carrying out rail vehicle maintenance and checks, you’ll carry out overnight servicing on a variety of customer trains and undertake driver training. Duties will include fuelling traction units, replenishing coolants, oils and screenwash, and filling and emptying water tanks.

There are two permanent contracts available at a train servicing depot in Scarborough, where you’ll work an average of 35 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off night shift roster.

You’ll receive a starting salary of £17,630, rising to £20,147 on completion of your training. You’ll also receive a range of attractive benefits including:

What will I need to be considered for this Vehicle Servicing / Fuel Attendant role?

  • You’ll love getting hands on and have an interest in mechanics, engineering and vehicle maintenance, ideally with an NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or BTEC / City & Guilds equivalent
  • You may have worked in an MOT centre, garage or vehicle servicing environment; however this isn’t essential as full training will be provided
  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level and have basic IT skills
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate well as part of a team and on your own
