Internal IT Engineer

This is a brilliant opportunity to join an enthusiastic and dynamic team which offers the successful candidate opportunities for ongoing development and training.  Salary £22,000 to £24,000, level dependent on experience.  Company benefits include pension, healthcare, life assurance, 25 days holiday, childcare vouchers, cycle scheme, performance bonus. 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Location – St Asaph.

The job role:

We are looking to recruit a highly service focused 1st and 2nd line technical support engineer to support and maintain Pinacl’s internal network and estate.

As an experienced IT Support Engineer, you should be approachable, have effective communication skills and be able to liaise with non-technical users. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are paramount, as is the ability to effectively plan and prioritise multiple tasks and technically complicated rollouts, whilst keeping calm under pressure.

Responsible for:

  • Day to day maintenance, management and running of the Pinacl network, servers and Active Directory
  • Information security risk management and mitigation, including testing and user training
  • Producing and maintaining documentation, procedures and best practices to support the ISO27001 ISMS
  • 1st and 2nd level support for 40 head office / home-based laptop users and additional 70 site-based users across UK, delivering excellent service in line with internal SLAs – including out of hours support as required
  • Maintenance of IT related databases and management of 3rd party software and upgrades
  • Delivery of on-premise file share transition project to Office 365 (SharePoint Online / Teams / OneDrive)
  • Optimise department costs and oversee hardware and software spend

Individuals with an in-depth understanding of and experience in cloud and networks, with proven experience and / or qualifications in the following:

  • MCSE certification
  • VMWare ESX/ESXi VSphere virtualisation
  • CCNA
  • Veeam Availability Suite
  • Windows 7/10
  • Windows Server 2008/2012
  • Active Directory
  • SQL and MySQL
  • SolarWinds Web Help Desk
  • Spiceworks
  • Office 365 Administration, Security and Compliance / Exchange / Teams / SharePoint / OneDrive
  • Skype for Business / Cloud PBX / AutoAttendants / Call Queues
  • SharePoint 2010 On Premise / SharePoint Online
  • SAN / NAS Storage
