Oscar Mayer Wrexham is part of the Oscar Mayer Group, a UK-wide company specialising in manufacturing prepared foods for the top UK grocery retailers such as The Co-Operative, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Waitrose. With 1,500 employees, the Wrexham Industrial Estate site is a very fast-paced operation, with an impressive 2 million ready meals being produced each week. Due to continued growth in our business, we are now looking to build our existing night shift teams to meet the demands of our customers.

We are recruiting across a variety of roles, and we are looking to fill positions within our Material Control Department, based in our High Care Department. 

Night Shift Production Operative vacancies available:

  • Chargehand Night Shift Stock Controller 
  • Sauce Stock Controller
  • Preparations Operative 
  • Hot Fill Sauce Operative 
  • Potato Canon Operative 

Hours of work

4 on 4 off (12 hour shifts) 18:00 to 06:00

Rate of pay

  • £9.95-£11.38 per hour (depending on the role) plus an additional £12.50 night premium for night shifts (for working 1x12 hours)
  • Overtime available and paid at 1.5 x your normal rate
  • Bank holiday paid at 2x your normal rate

Main Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Area Supervisor the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for a variety of the following duties dependent on roles:
  • Carry out pre - start checks
  • Controlling and managing stock 
  • Ensuring correct product labelling
  • Manual handling
  • Waste segregation 
  • Quality checking at all stages of production
  • Communication between departments to ensure the smooth running of the area
  • Ensuring the work station is kept clean and tidy in line with food hygiene standards
  • Assisting with the achievement of production targets
  • Complying with company hygiene policies and procedures when undertaking operations while maintaining high standards of personal hygiene
  • Skills required
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of machines
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible
