Tool Setter

The Role – Tool Setter 

Reporting to the Production Manager, as a Tool Setter you will set and operate a variety of CNC controlled machines including state of the art tool pre-setters and heat shrink tool setting equipment, along with using hand operated tools.

Your duties will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Working closely with the Production Supervisor to maximise the production schedule, ensuring tools are set and ready for the production plan
  • Planning for tool shortages within the production area, and proactively managing production changes and any issues that may arise
  • Dealing with tooling regrinds and tooling efficiencies through controlled vend suppliers
  • Monitoring tool wear and non-conforming parts through tooling failure

Our Requirements – Tool Setter 

  • Proven tool setting experience with good knowledge of cutting tools
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment
  • Computer literate including good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Although not essential, experience of working in a close tolerance aerospace environment would be highly advantageous.

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 38.5 hours per week on a rotational shift pattern within Monday to Friday, at our manufacturing site in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham.
