Trainer / Assessor (Rail Engineering)

6-month fixed term contract, with travel required across the UK

What will this Rail Trainer / Assessor role entail?

Reporting to the Training and Competence Manager, as a Trainer / Assessor you’ll be responsible for:

  • Preparing, delivering, and evaluating engineering and operational training programs and assessments
  • Developing and producing literature and materials to be used in programs and designing exercises to enhance training sessions
  • Delivering training courses on Depot Safety, Personal Track Safety (PTS), Designated Person; Depot Driving rail vehicles and any other rail specific training requirement identified, across all depot locations

You’ll be employed on a 6-month fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility required to suit business needs. You’ll predominantly work from our Crewe depot, however regular travel will be required to our other depots, mainly to Scarborough and Tyne Yard (Gateshead).

What will I need in order to be considered for this Rail Trainer / Assessor vacancy?

  • Proven experience and a good track record within the rail industry engineering / operations sector
  • Assessment / Assessing / Assessor qualifications (A1, A2, TAQA, CAVA, ACWE, AVRA, or IQAA)
  • Qualified to a minimum of C&G / BTEC Level 3 within Engineering and have practical experience within engineering
  • An instructor qualification (Level 3), or willingness to work towards
  • A full and valid UK driving licence
