Production Manager - Machining

Héroux-Devtek is an international company specialising in the design, development, manufacture, integration, testing and repair and overhaul of landing gear and actuation systems and components for the Aerospace market. What will this role of Production Manager entail?

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for all manufacturing activities for our medium-sized 24/7 machining organisation, producing landing gear components and assemblies. As the Production Manager for the machining site you will:

  • Work with other team members, and plan for and implement production strategies designed to deliver on time with improve efficiency, increase revenues, and to minimise disruptive events
  • Identify required resources, coordinate with other departments to ensure the resource availability, develop contingency plans and ensure the maintenance of the capacity for delivery
  • Manage employee relations for all employees in the Nottingham facility

What will I need to be considered for this Production Manager vacancy?

  • Experience of operations management, ideally gained within an Aerospace environment
  • Be either qualified to degree level with a BA in Business Administration or Engineering, or have equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering / CNC machining
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems development and deployment
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Process Improvement, Materials Management and Production Scheduling
  • High level of skills in problem analysis and problem resolution at strategic and functional levels
  • Be a self-motivated, high achiever with strong leadership ability and exceptional communication skills
  • IT proficiency with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
