Key Account Manager

Home-based, travelling to sites predominantly across the North West of England

What will this role of Key Account Manager entail?

As a Key Account Manager for the UK subsidiary, you will be responsible for the entire sales lifecycle, from technical and commercial discussion through to quotations and after sales support, of the company’s complete portfolio of products to a range of designated key accounts. Benefitting from the support of the UK Sales Team, your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Managing key accounts to maintain long term relationships and maximise sales opportunities
  • Promoting and selling company products to key accounts within the analytical & scientific market sector
  • Contacting and communicating with key accounts at all levels, including technical and commercial discussion leading to quotation generation, negotiation and contract agreement via the placing of orders
  • Technical and commercial liaison between the customer and the parent company’s market management
  • General OEM / Key customer management within company policies
  • Obtaining business and meeting sales targets in agreed area of responsibility
  • Reporting on customer activity and requirements, forecasting future sales, within Pfeiffer Vacuum UK and to the parent company
  • Monitoring and reporting on market trends and demands and competitor activities
  • Providing an efficient after sales support service

What will I need in order to be considered for this Key Account Manager vacancy?

  • Proven key account management experience within B2B technical sales
  • Relevant scientific / engineering background
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a drive to succeed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively

What will I receive in return?

You will be part of an ambitious company where you’ll be given every opportunity to progress and develop as a Key Account Manager.

You’ll receive a base salary in the region of £50,000, level dependent on experience, with an attractive bonus scheme giving an OTE in the region of £60,000. You will also receive a company car, laptop and iPad, contributory pension scheme and a healthcare package.

Contract: Permanent

Location: You will be based from home, however much of your time will be spent travelling to key customer sites across the North West of England, and to the Pfeiffer Vacuum office in Newport Pagnell. You will also be expected to travel regularly to sites in both Germany and France.
