Héroux-Devtek is an international company specialising in the design, development, manufacture, integration, testing and repair and overhaul of landing gear and actuation systems and components for the Aerospace market. What will this role of Continuous Improvement Manager entail?

Reporting to the UK Quality Assurance Manager, as the Continuous Improvement Manager working predominantly from our Nottingham site, your role will be to drive developments in quality, manufacturing efficiencies and business processes by utilising continuous improvement techniques across the three UK sites.

As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will:

  • Be a “leader of change” whilst being comfortable working with all levels within the organisation and having the confidence to question the status quo
  • Manage and lead continuous improvement projects, as well as be a trainer and coach to others
  • Apply lean manufacturing tools (PFMEA, time studies etc..) and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives internally and within the supply chain
  • Manage a portfolio of lean projects directed at reducing waste, improving quality and delivering greater value within the internal and external supply chain, whilst utilising such tools as: 5S, VSM, DMS and Kaizen
  • Train, coach and motivate employees/teams in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques by involving people in the process and focusing on measurable quality, efficiency and cost improvements
  • Drive the standardisation of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices
  • Lead Auditing and Risk assessment of new suppliers

What will I need to be considered for this Continuous Improvement Manager vacancy?

  • Proven experience in machining, programming, quality, and planning using an ERP system
  • Be qualified to degree level in a mechanical / industrial engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement techniques within own working environment
  • Be results orientated and self-driven
  • Effective communication techniques with the ability to liaise at all levels
  • Be a strategic thinker with the ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract working 38.5 hours per week, predominantly at the site in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham.
