Software Developer (C++) – Potential to work from home within the UK is available, with office based in Isle of Wight.

Superb opportunity for talented Software Developer with a strong track record of software development in C++ to join Yokogawa Marex, a specialist software solutions company within the Yokogawa Group, providing software applications in the manufacturing execution systems (MES) solution domain. The Group consists of 114 companies spanning 62 countries.

The Software Developer (C++) role

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, and as part of our Software Development Team, you will work with agile and waterfall methodologies, developing Microsoft Windows based information systems and applications. You’ll be responsible for the design and implementation of complex software components with adherence to quality processes that lead to the delivery of high quality software applications and solutions that satisfy customer requirements.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Producing and reviewing requirements, functional and design specifications for the development of complex software solutions deployed in mission critical environments
  • Developing and modifying software components adhering to quality standards in line with requirement, functional and design specifications
  • Producing and reviewing test specifications to carry out white box testing in line with the appropriate quality metrics
  • Planning, designing and developing automated unit tests to improve efficiency and test recurrence
  • Creating and testing software release media to include the relevant installation packages and documentation (user, installation and release)
  • Diagnosing and assisting other departments / teams for software issues, including usability, configuration and coding related problems

Requirements for this Software Developer (C++) vacancy

  • Proven experience as a Software Developer with experience in the development of complex software components in C++
  • Bachelor level degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT or similar (highly preferable but not essential)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (no option for sponsored employment visa at present)

Desirable but not essential, experience;

  • of software development in the Microsoft IDE, DevOps and TFS
  • of development in the Microsoft Stack including .NET.
  • in the latest C++ 2017 standards.
  • of SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • of JSON, OData

The Package

As a Software Developer, you’ll benefit from:

  • A salary in the region of £32,000 to £43,300, with the level dependent on experience
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with increments based on length of service
  • Pension with company contribution of 5%

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, 37 hours per week, within Monday to Friday. Flexibility with hours will be required to meet customer and business needs.

Our office is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Ideally, we would prefer you to be office based, but we are open to considering applications from those looking to work remotely (but this will be dependent on your level of experience and ability to do so).

Please note, there will be an initial training period where you will be required to be office based (accommodation and travel expenses will be paid), and infrequent travel to the office required for ongoing training and meetings.
