Senior Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Permanent contract on offer working 40 hours per week, with flexibility available around days worked (either 4 or 5 days per week) and with start and finish times.

Founded in 1972, Ingimex is the UK’s largest manufacturer of light commercial vehicle bodies for many of the leading chassis manufacturers, including Mercedes, Vauxhall, Iveco and Volkswagen. Our 27,000m² site in Telford boasts state of the art manufacturing machinery including 3D CAD product design, turret punching, laser cutting folding, and CNC milling machines, capable of producing over 3000 vehicle bodies each year.

You’ll be joining the business during an exciting time, playing a key role in driving the business forward following a recent £1.8 million investment, where you’ll be involved with specifying, purchasing, and installing a new laser cutting centre and powder coat paint shop.

The Role – Senior Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

As the Senior Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer, your primary duties will include although will not be limited to:

  • Reacting to machinery breakdowns to reduce downtime
  • Preventative maintenance, including auditing procedures and KPIs for machine availability
  • Installing, implementing, and testing new machinery
  • Managing and supervising service contractors on-site
  • Managing and updating maintenance records, including a list of essential machinery spares
  • Maintaining an annual maintenance budget

You will also be required to undertake general maintenance for the site facilities, both in a hands-on capacity and organising external contactors for: security and fire systems, plumbing, heating, and drains.

As a Senior Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll benefit from:

You will work 40 hours per week from our site in Telford, between the operating hours of 7am to 5:30pm, with some flexibility around start and finish times. You will have the choice to work over either 4 or 5 days per week, provided that the two key working days (Monday and Friday) are worked.

Our Requirements - Senior Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Proven experience with both mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Ability to manage a maintenance budget and processes
  • A flexible and logical approach towards tasks, with a willingness to repair plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Good computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and / or Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
