Part Time HR Administrator (23 hours per week within school hours, 3 month contract with potential to be extended or made permanent)

Calder Industrial Materials has significant experience delivering high quality, tailored solutions for a wide range of customers worldwide. We are one of the UK’s leading building materials suppliers, delivering lead sheet and a wide range of ancillary products to builders’ merchants nationwide.

In addition, Calder are also the UK’s leading specialist in lead engineering. We design, manufacture, and install radiation shielding and other products for the nuclear, defence, healthcare, construction, industrial and research markets.

The Role – HR Administrator

Reporting to and supporting the HR Manager, you’ll be responsible for providing a high level of administrative support with processes including recruitment, absence management, inductions, HR database maintenance, training and appraisals.

Your duties will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Assisting with arranging interviews and carrying out reference checks
  • Preparing offer letters and terms and conditions of employment, on-boarding and off-boarding and administrating staff changes
  • Preparing for new starter inductions
  • Maintaining the absence database
  • Responding to day-to-day HR queries
  • Administrating occupational health referrals
  • General administration duties including photocopying, scanning, filing, organising meetings etc.
  • Ensuring sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately at all times

Our Requirements – HR Administrator

  • Experience gained within a HR function
  • Ability to exhibit high level of confidentiality
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Team player

Although not essential, a HND in Business Studies and / or a CIPD qualification would be highly advantageous.

The Package

As the HR Administrator, you’ll benefit from:

  • A salary in the region of £21,000 to £24,000 (pro rata), potentially negotiable dependent on level of experience and qualifications
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Working 23 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 3:30pm with an early finish on Friday 9:30am to 12:30pm. Flexibility is available to agree on alternative start and finish times, and consideration will be given to requests to work 23 hours across 4 days, Monday to Thursday.

You will be working at our premises in Chester, on the outskirts of the city centre conveniently located for easy access just off Sealand Road.
