Gardener / Horticulturalist – Permanent, working 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What will this role of Gardener / Horticulturalist entail?

Working as a member of the Grounds and Gardens team, as a Gardener / Horticulturalist you’ll make sure the Park is presented to our visitors in a pristine condition throughout the year. You will carry out all aspects of gardening, grounds maintenance and other horticultural work including grass mowing, hedge trimming, bedding maintenance and leaf and litter clearance duties.

You’ll be involved in renovation work and replacing damaged areas of turf as well as operating and maintaining machinery and equipment. You will also have the opportunity to plan and implement, with agreement of the Head Gardener, seasonal displays.

What will I need to be considered for this Gardener / Horticulturalist vacancy?

  • Proven experience as a professional gardener / horticulturalist, with good knowledge of plants, gardening practices and garden machinery
  • Qualified to RHS Level 2 or equivalent
  • PA1 PA 6A Pesticides certificate
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Confident in participating in garden activities and events

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 16 hours per week within the core hours of 8am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
