UX / UI Designer (8 months fixed term contract, home-working)

Animated Technologies is an animation studio, and we love to solve problems, and that is exactly what we do. We take a complex subject, or a large body of information and we streamline it to produce creative and professional animated videos for our clients.

But we can do more than that. We create the full strategy to compliment that video, with social media animated adverts, exhibition stand animated videos, printed materials, and website landing pages. Video, digital or print, we create the materials our clients need to grow.

We are seeking an experienced and talented UI / UX Designer to create amazing and accessible user experiences for an exciting new-to-market application.

The UX / UI Designer Role

As a UX / UI Designer, you will have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI and UX skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, transforming them into beautiful, intuitive and functional user interfaces that are aimed at clear target audiences.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Executing all visual design stages, from concept and final hand-off to engineering
  • Presenting and defending designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders
  • Collaborating with product management and the rest of the team to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  • Conducting user research and testing and creating personas
  • Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices and standards

What will I need to be considered for this UX / UI Designer vacancy?

  • Demonstrable UX / UI design experience, with a strong portfolio
  • Experience of creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, XD or other visual design and wireframing tools
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
  • Experience of working in an Agile / Scrum development process
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders
  • Up to date knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies

What will I receive in return?

As a UX / UI Designer, you’ll join an ambitious yet relaxed business and be part of a driven, hardworking yet down to earth team, where you’ll be encouraged to have a voice, share your ideas and make a positive impact on the future of the business.

You’ll receive a salary in the region of £35,000 to £45,000 (pro rata) with the level dependent on experience. You’ll be employed on an 8 month fixed term contract, working full time hours within Monday to Friday.

Our head office is based in Anglesey, North Wales, and we have a satellite office in London. This position will be a work from home opportunity.
