Hospitality Duty Manager – Luxury retirement living development

Part time, approximately 28 hours per week. £13 per hour. 6 positions available.

Adlington Management Services (AMS) is an innovative specialist manager of high-quality retirement accommodation with care, typically comprising of multi-storey privately owned apartments. The company is part of the multi-award-winning developer Adlington, which is part of the respected Gladman Group with over 30 years of development experience.

The company is seeking 5 highly motivated and enthusiastic Duty Managers with great interpersonal and communication skills to support the overall management of its latest development. Exclusively for the over 55s, The Sailings is comprised of 55 luxury retirement apartments located in the charming seaside town of Southport.

All of the luxurious apartments benefit from their own balcony or patio and owners will enjoy the use of a stylish lounge, table service restaurant serving breakfast and lunch daily, activities studio, spa suite, hairdressing salon and an en-suite guest room. The development is easily accessed by car, with great road links to the A565.

What will this role of Hospitality Duty Manager entail?

As the Hospitality Duty Manager, you will support the General Manager with the day to day running of The Sailings, making sure high levels of support, catering, maintenance and administration are delivered.

Working as part of a team of 5 Duty Managers, you’ll welcome Homeowners to their new home and help them to settle into the new community, supporting the creation of social and group activities to enhance their lives. You’ll also provide a front of house service to welcome visitors and contractors as they visit, and deal with any emergencies that arise in a calm and professional manner.

What will I need in order to be considered for this Hospitality Duty Manager role?

  • Proven duty manager or similar management experience, ideally gained within the hospitality or housing services sector
  • Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to deal with complex issues, prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure

What will I receive in return?

As the Hospitality Duty Manager, you’ll receive a pay rate of £13 per hour (approximately £18,928 per year for 28 hours per week including sleep over pay), plus a range of benefits including 24 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays; 6% employer pension contributions.

You’ll be employed on a permanent, part time contract, working approximately 28 hours per week, which will include weekends, on a 4-week rolling rota. Flexibility will be required to meet business needs. Shifts are as follows:

Early: 7am to 3pm.

Late: 3pm to 10pm.

You will also be required to sleep over at the development as part of your hours, to ensure you’re on hand in case an emergency arises. Sleep-ins are paid at £12 an hour, with shift times of 10pm to 7am.
