General Manager (IT Support Services)

Flexible working options including part remote working available.

Telemat is part of Antur Cymru, a social enterprise working to meet the needs of communities in Wales by supporting the establishment and growth of thriving businesses both large and small.

Our clients range from start-ups to large established businesses, charities and the public sector, and we provide a complete suite of IT technical support for network and server infrastructures through to Cloud based technologies.

A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced people manager with good knowledge of IT, to join our team and oversee the management of Telemat, ensuring our continued development as a leading and innovative IT provider.

The Role – General Manager

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning, directing and co-ordinating all operations, including formulating budgets and proposals, planning the use of materials and human resources to deliver commercial income streams, along with managing strategic sales activity.

Your duties will also include, although not be limited to:

  • Working closely with the Managing Director to implement a change programme within the business to drive both strong financial performance and innovative capacity
  • In conjunction with the ICT Support Executive, researching, developing and delivering on commercial income generating products and services
  • Providing monthly monitoring reports to the Managing Director and the Board
  • Ensuring effective management, motivation, training and development of employees
  • Producing tenders
  • Compiling the annual business plan, budgets, marketing plan, projects and development plan

The Package

  • Salary in the region of £36,000 to £50,000, level dependent on experience
  • Permanent contract, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, (flexibility available with start and finish times around core hours of 8am and 6pm)

Our Requirements - General Manager

  • Proven experience at management level within a commercial environment, ideally within an IT organisation or similar
  • Experience of budget management
  • A good level of IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Excellent people and process management skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own transport
