The Role of Helpline Service Head
You’ll be responsible for ensuring all services operating within the Helplines are delivered to the highest standards. Your strategic focus will enable you to contribute to service, division, and organisation-wide management forums, and as part of the duty management rota you will have a direct impact on service delivery by providing live oversight and support in the Helpline environment.
Effective communication is pivotal to the continued success of the service delivery; therefore, it will be imperative to maintain close working relationships with external stakeholders, and senior staff in HR, Communications, Strategy, Policy and Evidence, Legal, Fundraising and Services for Children and Families, along with Service Head Helplines across the NSPCC Helpline.
Whilst managing the Helpline budget, with the support of your direct reports you will recruit, manage and develop helplines staff, ensuring all practitioners are well equipped to deliver the service to the high-quality standard deserved.
Our Requirements – Helpline Service Head

As a Helpline Service Head, you’ll receive a salary of £41,736 to £49,101, with the level dependent on experience. You’ll also receive fantastic additional benefits, including:
You’ll be based at our modern offices in Birmingham and employed on a permanent contract, working 35 hours per week. You’ll be required to undertake some day and evening shift work, which will be approximately 7 days in a 12-week period. In addition, you’ll participate in an on-call management rota (1 week in 4).
