Manufacturing Improvements Engineer

Héroux-Devtek is an international company specialising in the design, development, manufacture, integration, testing and repair and overhaul of landing gear and actuation systems and components for the Aerospace market. What will this role of Manufacturing Improvements Engineer entail?

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, as the Manufacturing Improvements Engineer you will be responsible for driving developments in manufacturing efficiencies, standardising machining strategies, implementing software standardisation improvements (CATIA / VERICUT / In PROCESS Inspection etc) and new product introduction (NPI) processes utilising continuous improvement techniques within the company’s Nottingham facility.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the business and influence decision making throughout the organisation whilst gaining valuable strategic cross-functional knowledge.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Managing and leading continuous improvement projects whilst training and coaching others
  • Applying lean manufacturing tools such as PFMEA and time studies and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives
  • Improving quality of NPI for CNC machined components
  • Driving the standardisation of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices

What will I need to be considered for this Manufacturing Improvements Engineer vacancy?

  • Be a qualified time served CNC Machinist with Mull-turn / 5Axis / Milling experience
  • Hands on knowledge of manufacturing software such as CATIA V5, VERICUT and Renishaw
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing continuous improvement techniques
  • Driven, with a results-focused approach
  • Effective communication techniques with the ability to liaise at all levels
