Luxfer MEL Technologies is a global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of Magnesium and Zirconium based products and services to technology industries worldwide.

Our lightweight magnesium alloys are machined or extruded to custom shapes and specifications to meet our customer requirements. Our magnesium alloys are used in high performance, safety critical aerospace, defence, healthcare, oil & gas and Formula 1.  We are a forward-thinking business with approximately 300 employees across the UK.

What will this role of IT Technical Support and Projects Coordinator entail?

Reporting to the IT Manager, as IT Technical Support and Projects Coordinator, you will see yourself focusing on the administrative function of all IT activities within the team to ensure business expectations are met. Further duties will include;

  • Providing first line technical support to identify faults
  • Coordinating technical resources to resolve support requests in a timely manner
  • Working towards management and ownership of the helpdesk function and implementation of KPIs
  • Providing user training and focus group to increase user self-sufficiency and knowledge
  • Managing third party suppliers, vendors and procurement
  • Asset management of IT equipment and licenses
  • Assisting with IT financial planning, annual and project budgets
  • Developing a knowledgebase for users and the IT Team
  • Coordinating project activities and milestones to ensure deadlines are met, leading to project management and ownership
  • Supporting SOX auditing requirements, collating reports and evidence and interacting with internal and external auditors
  • Supporting SAP segregation of duties, roles and authorisation functional tasks

What will I need in order to be considered for this IT Technical Support and Projects Coordinator vacancy?

  • Proven experience of working on a first line IT Helpdesk
  • Experience of using / managing an IT ticketing system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexible and nimble work style in a fast-paced environment, with strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail

Experience of Microsoft Desktop / Cloud applications and products would be advantageous, although not essential.

What will I receive in return?

As IT Technical Support and Projects Coordinator, you’ll receive a salary in the region of £25,000 to £30,000 level dependent on experience, along with the potential to earn up to 15% of salary as an annual bonus. You’ll also receive a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension and company share option scheme, employee performance recognition scheme and free on-site parking.

You will be employed on a permanent contract, working 37 hours per week within Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with flexibility required to meet business needs.

Location: Swinton (Greater Manchester). Travel to the US to deliver new services and training may be required, although this will not be on a regular basis.
