Trainee Buyer

IQD Frequency Products have been providing time and frequency control devices into the electronics industry for close to 50 years. Our Head Office is based in the UK but we support customers across the world. The Role – Trainee Buyer

As a Trainee Buyer, you will join our Supply Chain Team of three employees, where you will learn all aspects of supply chain management as part of an international environment.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Ensuring that ‘best in class’ customer service is delivered to internal and external customers
  • Managing all aspects of purchase order administration including ordering, scheduling and managing delivery information from suppliers
  • Expediting and maintaining delivery schedules from suppliers
  • Liaising with the Sales Administration Team on delivery information and reschedule requests
  • Liaising with the Logistics and Test Team to manage product through internal processes
  • Inputting data into our Alpha Plan Business System

As part of our supportive team, we will provide you with comprehensive training and support to help you to develop your skills and knowledge, and you will also be given the opportunity to study for a CIPS qualification, fully funded by the business.

Our Requirements – Trainee Buyer

  • Proven experience of working within a busy office environment
  • IT literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be self motivated, with a desire to learn new skills and develop your knowledge
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and using own initiative

The Package

As a Trainee Buyer, you’ll benefit from:

  • A starting salary in the region of £16,000 to £17,000, with the level dependent on experience

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, from the head office in Crewkerne in Somerset.
