Payroll Manager

Put your proven experience of processing multiple payrolls to excellent use as part of a successful and well-established company based in the heart of Chester City Centre.

What will this Payroll Manager role entail?

Reporting to the Director, as the Payroll Manager you will enjoy a very busy and varied role where you will play a hands-on role in processing and supporting the weekly and monthly payroll of approximately 150 client companies using Sage Payroll, with varying employee sizes. You will also be responsible for managing the Payroll Assistant. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Ensuring statutory payroll submissions are processed on time in relation to RTI, P32, P60s
  • Resolving payroll issues and queries with both clients and HMRC
  • Processing CIS returns for both contractors and subcontractors
  • Administering the auto enrolment pension schemes
  • Calculating and inputting overtime, mileage claims, expenses and bonuses
  • Updating records for starters and leavers, attachments of earnings and other notifications
  • Sending payslips and associated documents to clients for payment processing

What will I need in order to be considered for this Payroll Manager vacancy?

  • Proven experience processing multiple payrolls, with excellent knowledge of payroll requirements and legislation
  • Working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll software or similar and a good understanding of the auto enrolment pension scheme
  • IT literate, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail, with accurate and timely data entry skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
