Service Delivery Leader (Rail Vehicle Light Maintenance)

If you’re a hands-on leader that enjoys coaching and working closely with your colleagues, whilst getting stuck in with servicing and maintaining rolling stock, then you’ll love this fantastic opportunity to lead and motivate the friendly and dedicated Light Maintenance Team at Arriva TrainCare’s Bristol depot.

What will this role of Service Delivery Leader (Rail Vehicle Light Maintenance) entail?

Reporting to the Depot Manager, as the Service Delivery Leader you will lead, support, motivate and work with members of the maintenance teams to achieve set production targets. Communicating and participating in planning across other departments, you will enable stronger team cohesion and more effective working across the depot. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring trains are maintained, serviced and cleaned safely and to agreed quality standards, to meet operational and customer requirements
  • Acting as a key contact for the site and customers for problem solving, at times outside normal office hours
  • Mentoring and coaching team members, in addition to ensuring their wellbeing
  • Operating rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits

What will I need to be considered for this Service Delivery Leader (Rail Vehicle Light Maintenance) role?

  • Good working knowledge of rail vehicle light maintenance, both electrical and mechanical is essential, with a strong understanding of railway operations
  • Apprentice trained Fitter / Electrician, qualified to NVQ level 3 in Engineering, ideally within Rail Traction & Rolling Stock (or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of depot operations and railway reporting systems, i.e. Equinox, Maximo, Ravers 2 and Nexala
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Superb people management and supervisory skills
  • IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel

Although not essential, experience of lean management techniques would be advantageous, as would the completion of Competence Assessor A1/A2 training or working towards, and good knowledge of applicable health, safety and environmental standards and requirements.

Driver operator / shunter assessment in relevant class of vehicle would also be desirable.

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working from 7pm to 7am on a 4 on 4 off shift roster pattern. You’ll receive a salary of £45,731 per annum and receive a range of benefits including:
