The core value of our organisation is putting children first, and this role provides a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on thousands of families across the UK. Childline’s vision is to be there to give young people a voice when no one else is listening, an ambitious, but worthwhile mission — and one you will help us achieve as a Childline Supervisor.

What will this role of Childline Supervisor entail?

As a Childline Supervisor you will manage the day to day running of the service with support from a committed and dedicated team who will share your values of supporting children and young people.

You will be responsible for providing effective supervision to volunteers, which will include feedback, training and support where needed, ensuring that a quality response is given to every child or young person who contacts Childline.

What will I need to be considered for this Childline Supervisor role?

  • A relevant social care, health or education qualification and / or have substantial experience in engaging with children and young people in a relevant setting
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child protection legislation and practical experience of child protection and welfare issues
  • Superb communication skills, with a passion for customer service and making a difference
  • Good IT skills with the ability to write high quality, evidenced child protection risk assessments

Although not essential, experience in a supervisory or management role would be highly advantageous as managing volunteers is a fundamental part of this role.

What will I receive in return?

As a Childline Supervisor, you’ll receive a salary of £29,500 to £33,000 (pro rata), level dependent on experience, plus 3.5% rota allowance. Fantastic additional benefits include:
