The Role – Machine Shop Manufacturing Team Leader

Working closely with the Production Manager and Operations Manager, you’ll help transform and coordinate a busy Manufacturing Department by organising and developing employees, planning project resources (including staffing, materials, schedules, and sub-contractors), leading daily production meetings (SQPDE), and ensuring compliance with working procedures, CLAW regulations and ISO9001.

You’ll interpret drawings and liaise with colleagues regarding any changes or improvements, and maintain the schedule of work, advising on process and lead times for products and assessing / issuing drawing packs to meet deadlines. Additionally, you’ll manage inspection reports in line with our quality management system and raise purchase requisitions for departmental materials.

You’ll coach, motivate, and provide support to a team of 10 to 25 employees along with 1 or 2 Deputy Team Leaders, taking responsibility for the recruitment of new colleagues and their ongoing training.

Our Requirements – Machine Shop Manufacturing Team Leader

• Proven experience gained working within the Engineering industry, including using quality measuring equipment and identifying correct tooling
• Experience gained working with CNC milling / conventional turning and milling machining, with ability to read and write CNC programs using CAM software (ONE CNC)
• Experience leading a team of people, with a motivated and positive approach and superb organisational and time management skills
• Working knowledge of quality procedures, including ISO9001
• Superb communication skills, both written and verbal

Although not essential, a HNC / HND qualification would be advantageous.

The Package

As Machine Shop Manufacturing Team Leader, you’ll benefit from:

• A salary in the region of £30,000 to £37,000, with the level depending on experience
• Permanent contract, working 36 hours per week, 7am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday from our factory located on Sealand Road on the outskirts of Chester City Centre
