Stores Team Leader

Brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic, friendly, and positive stores professional with supervisory experience, to join a growing business as part of the professional and busy team at Calder Industrial Materials based in Chester, conveniently located just off Sealand Road.

Calder Industrial Materials has significant experience delivering high quality, tailored solutions for a wide range of customers worldwide. We are one of the UK’s leading building materials suppliers, delivering lead sheet and a wide range of ancillary products to builders’ merchants nationwide.

In addition, Calder are also the UK’s leading specialist in lead engineering. We design, manufacture, and install radiation shielding and other products in the nuclear, medical and other markets.

The Role – Stores Team Leader

As the Stores Team Leader, you’ll report to and support the Stores and Despatch Manager in all duties across our two factories and be responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing receipts and shipments are accurate.

Your duties will include, although will not be limited to:

  • Ensuring that all goods are packed securely and safely ready for despatch, and assisting with picking and packing, creating despatch and advice notes
  • Planning and preparing goods out using Excel spreadsheets 
  • Controlling access to the Stores and ensuring the safety and security of all stock on site
  • Producing all shipping documentation using the relevant systems to ensure goods are transferred to couriers in accordance with current UK export and domestic regulations
  • Maintaining and managing stock space and stock levels of all site consumables and packing materials, including regular stocktaking
  • Ensuring that health, safety, and quality standards are complied with at all times

On occasion, you will also be required to cover for the Stores and Despatch Manager in times of absence from the business.

Our Requirements – Stores Team Leader

  • Proven supervisory experience within a similar Stores and Despatch role, working with stock management systems and databases
  • A valid Counterbalance and Reach FLT licence
  • IT literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to work to deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Superb communication skills with ability to build effective internal / external working relationships and motivate a team

Although not essential, an NVQ in Warehouse Management or similar would be highly advantageous.

You’ll be part of a growing market leading business where your results will be noticed and well rewarded. As a Stores Team Leader, you’ll receive a salary of £26,665 per annum (equivalent to £12.82 per hour), plus a range of additional benefits including:

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 5pm and Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm. Flexibility to work as and when required is essential for this role.
