Procurement Officer (Supply Chain)

Due to exciting business growth, a newly created role is available for an individual with extensive supply chain / procurement expertise. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new project with strong environmental benefits from inception.

Orthios is focused on regenerative development with a wide expertise in waste recycling, plastic waste processing, electrical and mechanical engineering, logistic, construction and project delivery. Our objective is to deliver local solutions for climate challenges by recycling and converting non-recyclable material into added value products and green energy.

The Role – Procurement Officer (Supply Chain)

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will work closely with the Procurement team and external suppliers / vendors to develop an understanding of strategic commodities, structure of markets, cost drivers and price trends to drive business growth. You will achieve this by:

  • Building a reliable procurement network to ensure contracts, purchase orders and budgets are accurate
  • Conducting market research to identify, initiate and negotiate sustainable and responsible supply contracts
  • Supporting upgrades of existing / establishing new product lines
  • Training, advising, and mentoring all users across materials and purchasing systems
  • Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with reporting / monitoring of purchase orders

You will be employed on a permanent contract, working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm from our new state of the art Plastics to Oil facility in Holyhead.

Our Requirements – Procurement Officer (Supply Chain)

  • Experience gained in a similar role, with procurement / supply chain expertise
  • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems
  • Awareness to control spend and source responsibly, and ensuring we retain our positive reputation
  • Ability to remain focused and confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Although not essential, experience gained within the manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous.

We are an ambitious company, developing an Eco Park in Holyhead (North Wales) that is focused on delivering green technologies to international markets. Our first major projects focus on the introduction of the Polymer Processing Facility, and the Material Recovery Facility which will, through pyrolysis, convert plastics previously judged non-recyclable to oil.
